How do social networking sites like Friendster and even Youtube generate revenue?

Is it thru CPM (cost per impression), CPC/CPA (cost per click/action), affiliate marketing?

No there is no other way.

Sites like Myspace and Friendster are based on ads.

I don’t even think they use click based ads

They get raw money, like thousands from that.

Email addresss of top auditing firms here in PI. My friend just pass the CPA board exam and needs a decent job

Below are th firms he want to be in. Any help will be greatly appreciated…

* PricewaterhouseCoopers Philippines (also known as Isla Lipana & Co.)
* SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co. (SGV & Co.) (member practice of Ernst & Young Global)
* Manabat Delgado Amper & Co. (the Philippine member firm of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.)
* Manabat Sanagustin & Co. (member firm of the KPMG network)
* BDO Alba Romeo & Co. (Philippine Member Firm of BDO International)

If your "friend" is smart enough to pass the exam, he should be smart enough to find this information on his own.

Registering under 18 and Filling W8-BEN Under 18?

You know how most terms and agreements when you register for something requires you to be 18 or above such as paypal. What happens if you still register for it but you’re under 18 such as paypal. Many people do it and haven’t heard of many who were punish by law but what would be punishment if you do?
The reason why I’m asking this is because I signed up for a CPA network and I realize that you have to be 18 or above but does not require your specific age or birth date so I thought nothing of it.

But after I was approve it required me to fill out a W8-BEN form for tax purposes before you could be paid and I’m wondering whether I should request for the account to be close or just fill out the form. I doubt they’ll care or know that I’m under 18 and I’m roughly 16 so just another 2 years.

The main thing I’m worried about is the W8-BEN form as it is actually a government form but from what I read there were not age requirements to it just whoever needed to pay taxes however I’m afraid that because I’m supposedly 18 from registering from the network that it may affect this too. However as I read under the penalties of perjury that age is not a factor.

Thanks in Advance :)

BTW I will pick a best answer, happy answering

W-9 if you are a citizen or resident alien.
W-8Ben if you are a non-resident in the USA.

Thinking of changing my career, is it too late?

Just as my sister wanted to be a doctor but is now going towards cpa, I want to change my career.

I graduated from college with network technology degree. Since working for this company I am getting more interested in graphic design such as adobe photoshop and dreamweaver.

I cant draw for anything on paper , sometimes I dont have good image ideas but is it too late to change careers? I can save up some money later on and take classes or learn adobe photoshop or dreamweaver online.

It’s never too late, no. I had a family member who is 64 years old and he just changed jobs (granted, he didn’t change his entire career but his new jobs requires a lot of new information and learning). If it’s what you want to work toward, then I say go for it.

what are best books/resources about basics of MEDIA advertising?

for instance, in the context of lead acquisition for an online subscription business:

1. in general:
how to optimize a media mix, assuming that you have a $2 million annual media budget, eg how much go to natural/paid search, banners, emails, etc – all in context of PROSPECTING/ ACQUISITION

2. by channel:
- banners: how ad networks work, CPM vs CPA; what to avoid, what to look out for, what are areas of opportunity?
- email prospecting: common mistakes when renting a list
- co reg – what works/what doesn’t
- affiliates: how to manage ad networks (RO WISE, AZOOGLE, etc) and their affiliates – eg how to make sure that affiates don’t bid for keywords against you?

Thank you!

There are none and any out there are rubbish.

Do YOU think for ONE moment that Chiat Day or Needham World Wide would publish their trade secrets!

I works like this. You take a chance.

I did TV commercials for Ambulance Chasing attorneies. It cost them $2,000 for the spots and $10,000 to put them on at 2 AM

After the FIRST airing they got several phone calls the next morning. One would think those first phone calls might pay for the experiment.

Vanessa Carlton’s people did a Yahoo Launch thing. Probably the most massive ever and as far as I’m concerned it work. It got me to check her out when I saw her banner on EVERY site!

That cost between $10,000 and $50,000

The Macintosh got launched with ONE ad on the Superbowl.

In theory one would think that’s the worse place to put it! Jocks aren’t GEEKS.

In the early days of TV commecials were integrated into the script, then they made that illegal.

Do you know how many people started smoking ot switched to Winston because Jedd Clampett and Granny pitched it first hand and smoked it on TV.

Winston tastes good like a cigarette had outta!

Endorsements are the ultiamte tool.

Get Britney to pitch a disposable diaper and watch sales rise

Ed McMahon used to pitch Alpo and Budweiser on the Tonight Show. Once a month he got a truck load of each delviered to his house, plus he got over $1 million a year in compensation!

Antia Bryant got into trouble over Gay bashing and it COST her a $2 million a year Sunkist contract!

Anita Bryant, as has been, was worth $2 millioni a year!

Look at that diabetic testing company that snagged what’s his name! He’s on there all the time. So is that black blue guitarist.

Who would beleive a talking Gekko could be an Icon for an insurance company!

Pure genius.

They took a chance.

That chance cost $10 million to try out.

A national spot is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 PER 30 seconds

Back cover or inside cover of any major magazine is $200,000

Ford, Chevy and Dewars has made a living out of this!

Fail and you drive the company into bankruptcy!

A company like Toyota gives Chiat Day (or is it Needham, this year) $200 million a year to promote them.

Some things can’t be promoted.

An 18 year old boy of limited talent made his own Commercial, took his own poor picture, bought a full page ad in Variety and aired himselve on TV for a week.

Must have cost him $20,000

He got nowhere.

Angelyne found a sugar daddy who put up a billboard of her on Sunset for several years at a cost of $$$$

It got her a few movive and TV roles and she is a name and icon in the industry. Not much of one, but an Icon.

Country Singer Kenny Rogers. Had a minor hit with "Ruby Don’t Take Your Love To Town" with the First Edition. Got on the Smothers Brothers TV show sevearl times.

Ken Kragen picked himup, talked him into going country full time, then got him booked into a Las Vegas hotel. Kragen convienced Rogers to spend his ENTIRE salary from that gig on a double truck ad in every Las Vegas newspaper (about $5,000 to $10,000 each paper). Rogers did it and he got his gig extended from 1 week to 5 weeks.

That was bold.

Do you have the balls to tell someone living in an Apartment in North Hollywood with no life and no career who just got $30,000 to blow it all on 3 or 4 newspaper ads!?

Do you have that kind of balls!

That is the advertising business.

You won’t find that in books.

Company: LLC, C-Corp, Sorp – Taxes on Profits?

I am currently working with a few CPA Networks. [NeverBueAds, Azoogle, Copeac]

I am doing around 1-2K month now, and I don’t know what I should do about Taxes. All that 102L of revenue is not pure profit, I also have expenses that are used to make that money, about 1K/month. I need to fill out a W-9 form before I could get my earnings. However, I just do it under my own name, as there is really nothing to worry about.

However, would I need to set up something, like a LLC or something, I feel I should only pay taxes in my profits and not on all revenue. So I would be writing off computers, internet, % of my home for office space, and then other things related to my Search Marketing process.

Thank you for any information you may have.

You don’t have to complicate your life and create an LLC, C corp or S Corp.

You can do sole proprietorship right now, especially if you are not in an industry where you are most likely to be sued that you need to do a corporation or LLC to protect your personal assets and separate it from your business assets.

You’re only starting with your business and earnings are not high. You can start slow and do a sole proprietorship

Use Schedule C to list your income and expenses. You can deduct from your taxes your business expenses such as webhosting fees, advertising fees, purchase of computers, office supplies, even do home business deductions if you operate your business from home.

CPA Marketing

CPA Marketing, CPA Marketing
On , you find free articles and tips on CPA Marketing, prospecting for new year-round Accounting service clients, and marketing & sales, CPA, which stands for Cost Per Action, marketing is one of the easiest ways to increase your Internet income. CPA marketing is not as popular as traditional affiliate marketing but it is certainly worth trying for everyone who is interested in making money online. In many cases, it is much easier to make money as a CPA affiliate than as a traditional affiliate.

It is slightly more complicated to become a CPA affiliate than a traditional affiliate. Everyone can sign up as a ClickBank affiliate, while CPA networks will check every applicant before accepting them. Most CPA networks are reasonably easy to join, at least as long as you have some experience as an Internet marketer. But even beginners are accepted by some networks. Generally, it is no problem getting accepted by the US networks even if you live outside the US. You will look more professional if you use your company rather than your own name when you apply to the CPA networks.

Most CPA Networks have a multitude of different offers you can promote. If you are a beginner, just join two or three networks. Otherwise, you may get confused by the sheer amount of offers you can promote. You also have a number of different types of offers. The most common types are email submit, ZIP code submits, short forms, long forms, sales, free trials and downloads.

If you are a beginner, the easiest offers to promote are email submits and ZIP code submits. These offers do not pay much per lead but they convert very well. ZIP code submits mean that the users have to enter their full address, not just the ZIP code. Email submits just require a valid email address and sometimes the first name of the user.

It is a good idea to cut down the number offers you promote by focusing on just one or two niches. This way you can learn what kind of customers you should target to get maximum return. By knowing the demographics of your market you can drive more targeted traffic to your offers and this gives you higher conversion rates. This is the key to making big money in CPA marketing.

Company: LLC, C-Corp, Sorp – Taxes on Just Profits!?

You can very well continue as you are doing right now — sole proprietor. You don’t have to complicate your life and create an LLC, C corp or S Corp in order to deduct your business expenses.

Use Schedule C to list your income and expenses. You can deduct from your taxes your business expenses such as webhosting fees, advertising fees, purchase of computers, office supplies, even do home business deductions if you operate your business from home.

Business Use of Your Home (for home based businesses) http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p587.pdf

If your business grows and you get partners for your business, or if you expand your business to another field, then you can consider changing your legal structure to S corp, C corp or LLC.

I highly recommend buying the latest version of the book JK Lasser guide to taxes for small business owners, as they itemize all possible deductions you can get as a business owner.

What is a W-9 Form: Azoogle, CPAEmpire, NeverBlueAds?

Hello,

I would like to know what is a W-9 form.

I am currently working for CPA Networks such as Azoogle, RocetProfit, NeverBlueAds and others.

Is this any legal troubles? It was needed for them before they can send payments.

I don’t have an TIN number, and I was just going to use my SS number.

Thank you for your any help.

A W-9 tax form is a Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification. Taxpayers use it when they form a business that is required to report to the IRS as a separate accounting entity. Corporations and Partnerships use it to request an number.
